Quote IFIUS Executive Committee about the Budapest 2008 Games:

“It took IFIUS 6 years to obtain the same or even a better organizational level as the 2002 Barcelona Games. From 2000 to 2002 IFIUS partnered with PHILIPS electronics BV, ensuring the necessary financial means to obtain a high organization standard. After the partnership, IFIUS required some years to adapt to a new situation with less financial input. The most important step towards the excellent Budapest 2008 Games was introduced in Rotterdam 2004 where the Federation cooperated for the first time with a Host University and not solely with a Host City, guaranteeing IFIUS the necessary number of stewards, team attachés and venue coordinators. This evolution resulted in the highly qualitative Budapest 2008 Games comparable to the 2002 Barcelona Games”; according the IFIUS Executive Committee during the IFIUS Closing Ceremony in Budapest.
