The International Federation for Interuniversity Sport (IFIUS) celebrates its 10th anniversary in the Hungarian Capital Budapest!
During the Vienna 2007 Games, the IFIUS family welcomed 1.300 students representing universities and colleges from China, Kazakhstan, Panama, Iran, Russian Federation, Spain, Italy, Norway and many other countries. If you also want to become a part of the IFIUS family, please register on this website.
IFIUS is a democratic non profit organisation which consists of universities worldwide. The main objective of the federation is to give each student in the world the oppurtunity to participate in the World Interuniversity Games.
Each year between 65 and 75 universities are selected to participate in the Games, depending on the accommodation and venue capacity of the host city. The number of accredited persons differs between 1.100 and 1.300 athletes and staff, excluding IFIUS Staff, Executive Committee members, IFIUS Commission members and stewards.
In 2008 the Games are organised in Budapest in close cooperation with the Budapest University of Technology and Economics and the Hungarian University Sports Federation. Men’s and Women’s Football, Basketball, Volleyball and Men’s Futsal are programmed.
