Definition
The International Federation for Interuniversity Sport is a democratic non profit organization which consists of universities worldwide. IFIUS is authorized by its members to organize the World Interuniversity Games and to represent them internationally.
Objects
The main objectives of IFIUS as laid down in the Statutes are to (1) offer each student in the world the opportunity to compete on an international interuniversity sports level, (2) protect the rights of interuniversity sports playing students and universities and (3) promote international interuniversity sports in every way it deems fit.
General Assembly
The General Assembly is the supreme governing organ of the IFIUS. In principle, it takes place every year in October.
Executive Committee and Headquarters
The Executive Committee is elected each 4 years and carries out the decisions taken by the General Assembly. The tasks of the IFIUS Executive Committee are to guarantee the democratic implementation of the IFIUS Statutes and to represent and promote the federation towards universities worldwide.

The Headquarters and Administrative Secretariat of IFIUS have been located in Antwerp (Belgium) since 1998.

IFIUS Staff
The IFIUS Staff is the owner of the organization and administration rights of the World Interuniversity Games and therefore responsible for the practical and administrative implementation of the Games. All Staff responsibilities are coordinated by Mr. Stephane Stiévenart, Mr. David Van den Bosch and Mr. Nils Van de Velden.

IACC (International Arbitration and Control Commission)
The IACC acts as Arbitration & Control Commission, recognised by the International Federation for Interuniversity Sport, in order to:
| (1) | Guarantee the correct development/progress of the IFIUS Games |
| (2) | Guarantee that the official regulations of the concerned International Federations (FIFA/FIBA/FIVB) are respected, taking into account the adaptations and the applications of the IFIUS Laws of the Game in the different sports disciplines. |
| (3) | Control the accreditation cards of the players. The IACC holds the right throughout the entire Games to carry out this control. |
| (4) | Assure observation by the IACC Members that penal provisions towards a certain player are carried out correctly. |

Statutes
The statutes are available for IFIUS members. If a university or college applies for membership, the statutes are forwarded.
