Hosting World Interuniversity Games
IFIUS offers a clear return to potential host cities and universities. The financial revenues of minimum 1.200 accredited persons staying for 5 days (5.000 overnight stays, meals, shopping revenues, …) in a potential host city are easily calculated and transparent. In addition, the games are an ideal city and university marketing instrument towards a clearly defined and highly potential market segment, students worldwide. The IFIUS brochure, forwarded to 7.500 universities and colleges worldwide, is an optimal platform to communicate with this important group. Finally the IFIUS website with half a million hits on a yearly basis ensures a worldwide promotion tool.
In return IFIUS requires a very modest hosting fee compared to other events of this size. As the main developer of international interuniversity sport it is not the financial build up that ensures an optimal student environment. IFIUS focuses on the quality of the Games, taken in consideration a student friendly organization, based mainly upon logistical (materials and volunteers) support of the host city and university.
