Budapest 2008: Also interactive records

All Budapest 2008 figures are showing a successful growth and not only in the number of participation requests. IFIUS welcomes also a significant increase in the daily amount of visits on the official website - every day more than 300 visitors are counted.

Budapest 2008 beats all records!

A record number of women’s teams registered for Budapest 2008. The basketball women competition finally deserves a place at the Games with 9 registered university teams. In addition, the partcipating universities will represent more countries than ever, 29 in total already at this moment. Finally, the total number of participating teams has increased with nearly 35 % in comparison with the already successful Vienna 2007 Games.

Although the registration period for the Budapest 2008 Games is officially finalized and some competitions have already reached participation limits, IFIUS will still allow entry requests for some weeks. With this decision, the Federation hopes to help the many Middle East and Asian Universities requesting an extension of the registration deadline. Mid April 2008, when all participation formalities are finalized, IFIUS will place an overview of all participants per sport on this website.

As a result, IFIUS will introduce each Budapest 2008 participant on this website, including a presentation of the university (teams) and the Budapest 2008 expectations. A unique chance to get to know all the members of the worldwide IFIUS family.

Budapest 2008 Ferencvaros Football and Futsal venue, also administrative centre

The Ferencvaros venue will not only welcome all football (6 pitches) and futsal (2 pitches) games, it will also serve as an administrative centre where IFIUS staff, temporary staff, commission members and EC members will be accommodated, incorporating the necessary meeting and catering modalities.

An IFIUS delegation visited Budapest from 5 to 7 November. On Monday the different venues were presented by the Chairman of the local organization committee, Zoltan Dibo of the Budapest University of Technology (BUT).
